Hollywood Stories – Be Part of a Great Film

The Blissful Adventurer - Hollywood Stories

With This Ring

Hollywood Stories are made from extraordinary circumstances. Writer/Director Greg Bowyer, an 18 year Hollywood Production Professional is seeking backers to join him in making a hilarious romantic comedy. I know Greg personally and he is unquestionably one of Hollywood’s brightest minds and this beautifully developed story blew me away when I heard the synopsis. Original, compelling, and riotously funny, With This Ring  is a romantic comedy about Jacqueline, a newly-licensed surgeon, who loses her engagement ring inside Brad, the notorious “all-destroyer” malpractice attorney.

Panicked by the threat of a career-ending lawsuit, Jacqueline decides it’s better to trick Brad back into surgery than tell him the truth.  But since Brad has major trust issues when it comes to doctors — and women — getting him back on the table seems hopeless.  Desperate, Jacqueline turns to seduction but soon finds herself caught between her fiance, her career, and her new love.

With This Ring (kickstarter link) will star the incomparable Joe Mantegna and is scheduled for production this year and release next year. You have a real chance to be part of funding this wonderful project. The project needs $100,000.00 to be fully funded by May 19 of this year. Each contribution will fund the very best talent for this project and set the movie in motion for box office stardom.

I encourage anyone who has ever wanted to be part of a Hollywood production to consider making a donation from $1 up to $10,0000.00. I want to see this movie in theaters and I am confident you all will as well. Let’s help Greg set this ship in motion.

Arches National Park – The California Move Day 2

We drove into Moab, Utah under the cover of darkness the night before then ate a typically awful American-Italian meal with poor wine. I refused to set an alarm assuming I would awaken at 6 to begin our photo tour of Arches National Park.

When I finally looked at the clock it was after 7 and I knew we had to scramble for good light and acceptable temperatures. Juliet and I assumed the park would be cool and interesting. It was in fact far beyond our expectations and we know we will return for a much deeper exploration in the coming years. [Read more...]

Colorado National Monument - The California Move Day 1

Juliet and I recently moved from Colorado to California. In the spirit of adventure we decided to spend 5 days driving across the American West to experience red rock canyons, monoliths, Vegas, and

several national parks. Only Vegas failed to blow us away and in all honesty it never really had a chance. This drive and its story are told in our photos which make my best words on my best days seem

so insignificant. I highly suggest clicking on the images to see full size.

Before the Fire Haze

Here are shots of Rocky Mountain National Park on the 645 Pro app on my iPhone. There was so much smoke and haze from the hellish fires burning in all directions that the shots are hauntingly aged and eerily out of focus. [Read more...]

The Story of Michael and Juliet

A Bridge-Eye View – Venice

Hello Blissful Readers,

This is Juliet and Michael together for our inaugural joint post. We wanted to feature Juliet’s photos today as an introduction to her art and to bring our current readers into the life of a traveling nurse a bit. The photo above is perhaps the most compelling photo that either of us has ever taken. We were on a woman-powered work boat rowed by two amazing Venetian women (one a valiant ex-pat) when we came upon this bridge. Michael felt obliged to capture the rowers and Juliet simply took what the universe gave her. Even simply looking at the image on the iPhone 4s after the shot we both knew something had just happened. This is what is brilliant about photography; akin to a hole in one and perhaps even more rare is that shot that simply transcends the moment, the camera, and the photographer. This was one of those shots for Juliet and we had to share it with you all today. [Read more...]

We had this place to ourselves

Welcome to the new website of The Blissful Adventurer. Juliet and I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to join is today. Today’s post will provide a small tour of the site and of course a few photos from the big recent trip in Italy.

You will notice immediately the new HOME PAGE which is the culmination of our dreams to offer an elegant introduction to the site with photography, clean lines, and ease of access. I wanted this to represent the gallery walls for Juliet’s and my work to shine through without distraction. [Read more...]

Italy Stories – The Patron of Caffe’ Roma (Part 5)

The Cliffs of Polignano a Mare

PART 1

PART 2

PART 3

PART 4

On this final day of February 2012, I am celebrating the most successful month in the history of the blog with this final chapter. Have we seen the last of Mike and the Woman?

PART 5

The two ate mostly in silence as the plates of fritto misto, calamari, and polpo alla griglia made their way to the table in a methodical and slow succession. The restaurant began to fill and the noise level was more than the couple could bear and continue their new dialog. Besides, as Mike had said, the food was the star of the show here; and of course the view.

Mike knew that the greatest part about a meal at Santos was the wonderfully chaotic arrangement of chaise lounge chairs strewn about the grass right at the edge of the sea. In the late spring and summer families pour into the restaurant for long lazy lunches then the adults spend the afternoon in a chaise, chasing elusive sleep while the kids play chase on the beach. Santos is a good place and Mike believed himself to be a good guy. A 20 Year Italy Love Affair – Celebrating My 100th Blog Post

The Pantheon - My Favorite Building on Earth (Photos Property of The Blissful Adventurer - all rights reserved)

20 years ago I boarded a flight from DFW to Rome. I had no idea what to expect as I was older than most of my classmates and nearly missed out on the journey because I had not gone the semester before with my friends.

Just 1 year prior to my Rome departure I had a meltdown semester where I changed majors twice, dropped all my classes, and spent my evenings drinking cheap beer and smoking roll-your-own cigs while pining for a girl who had no interest in me. [Read more...]
