Haiku Sunday (Guest Post)

**The Blissful Adventurer is running about Italy at the moment so in his stead we happily endorse and support the work of the following blogger, kyotzeta. Please check out this post, leave comments for exchange with the author, and give their blog a read.**

The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright

all the power of a mind
once it filled a mall
now it fits in my pocket

The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright

skyscraper in the desert
wind scours it clean
while its tenants fly above

The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright

golden syrup holds the sun
in its depth the glow
streams of light as she pours

The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright

crystalline the water falls
in a hidden world
in its pool the naiads play

The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright

butterfly wings on her back
she soars through the air
now she is gone from my sight

About Michael Housewright

Michael shares stories, observations and experiences traveling through life, Italy, and the absurd. Poems, photos, and stream of consciousness blog-plays are methods to his madness.

  10. Maybe you should extend your vacation in Italy ;) . Great stuff!

  11. These are really interesting. I especially like the last one. The imagery in all of them is great. The metaphor of the sun “pouring golden syrup of light” is fine.

  12. Thanks, everyone, for your kind words. I’m glad my words and the pictures went together so well, especially since they were technically written for other pictures. >;< My fault entirely, I've been totally out of touch for over a week now, and sporadic before that, so I wasn't here to double-check the post. Luckily, the beautiful pictures more than made up for my somewhat muddled poems…and maybe Mr. Mike will give me permission to repost them with the other pics someday! ;)
