Today’s Haiku Sunday is all about Italian Food. I am almost starving because I went through a pile of food photos this morning and changed my Haiku theme to something I have devoted my life to doing: eating. These photos were all taken on our most recent trip in May. Happy July everyone!
Fresh Seafood Platter – Venice – La Cantina
a local road leads
to the depths of the sea on
our first day in Italy
Venice Meatballs and White Wine
tasting standing up
an hour or so before the sup
joyous wine smiling
Spaghetti with Clams – Le Marche
filled with old workers
this fluorescent spot of life
cooks food as god wants
Taglierini with Fresh Brittany Oysters – Osteria Glass – Rome
butter and salt me
before I sleep save my mind
and slather this love
Pasta with Fresh Tomato and Herbs – Mt Etna, Sicily
After walking vines
fruits of others lift the grain
brings life and renewal

I’ll have to come back this evening and look at this food, unless you have some Belgian waffles. But since this is Italian food, I’m thinking no Belgian waffles this morning.
