This week’s Haiku Sunday is an introduction to Italy’s Le Marche region. This stunning region along the Adriatic Sea and held by the spiny Sybelline Mountains just west is one of the most compelling and least visited regions in Italy. This tip of the iceberg should get you all excited to visit. (Remember to click the photos to see full size)
Rolling wildflowers
along organic vineyards
make me smile quickly
Blue skies abounding
over a seven sided
tower and no people
Looking back surprised
we only wanted to see
and not touch the goods
Invited to see
the world of a ship’s crew was
squalor and still hope
He stood no taller
than a child of eleven
and made cheese daily
chilled but not cold
bracing then round offers a glimpse
into the soul of man
last night cheese in our hands
cool red wine from the glass jug
real discovery

Some of my favorite photos of all ! Haiku was descriptive and insightful.
the cheese maker picture is stunning! also, i’m probably late in saying this because i’ve been away from the internet for so long; but i love the new look for this site! very nice
Yes, the cheesemaker’s face shows an ardor for work well done. Nice capture!
Hey, thank you! How are you? I am glad to see you made your way over to the new site and I am hopeful you will enjoy what we are doing here. Cheers Lilian!
These are wonderful photographs!
Great pics. I love the cheese maker guy
OH! I’ve also nominated you for The Lovely Blog Award. You probably have tons of awards already, but I thought I would pass this one to you anyway, because I think you’re awesome. Just visit my blog to check out the simple rules.
Very vivid images you created with the Haiku.
Great pictures!
Love these photos especially the first one. I will have to find you on Pinterest and “pin” it!
Susie! did you find the Pinterest link? You should be able to pin any photo and also there should be a link to my Pinterest page. if not, let me know
How was Breck?
The man “no taller than a child of eleven” gave me a great, big Smile. Thank you.
And on another irrelevantly relevant note: your new blog is terrific! I am finding that people forget to mention what they think, only because they have to come expect the best from you, so it is no surprise to them to be yet impressed once more. You know? It’s a compliment, really, but still, I had to tell you that you have done a lovely job with TBA.
Happy Monday to you, Michael!
Cara,
I am thinking he is about 4’10″ as Juliet towered over him and she is 5’4″. There will be an entire post dedicated to him, his family, and their amazing cheese
thank you for the vote of confidence. The site still needs work and hopefully I can get it more in line with what I want this week. I am so very happy you enjoy it
Gorgeous photography! Love the new page too!
Anastasia! How are things? Glad to see you made it over to the new website! Did you have a chance to look at any of the the other pages?
it is good to know
that you no longer touch sheep
except in your sleep
I dont think I would enjoy my Haiku Sundays if I did not get the poetic response from you. I still enjoy sheep on my dinner table as well
The words and the photos marry beautifully. I can see I’ll have to explore the world of Haiku.
Thank you so much! I am glad you popped over and I hope you have fun with the Haiku
We do this every Sunday
Your new blog looks fantastic!! So professional and terribly impressive Michael! What can I say except the pictures are exquisite. Truly they speak for themselves. I love the picture of the cheesemaker. Almost as if you captured a piece of his soul.
Karista!
How the heck are you? How are things in the great NW? I am so honored you like the new site. It is still a bit of a work in progress.
love!
