breeze brushed the open window
while animals stared
her new home would finally
be built; not for long
was just too blasphemous thought
Jim as he cast vote
sun he thought as the eager
me prepared the rope
sunglasses forced people to
see the world this way
it takes a day to
experience what a TV
can only show us
on a day where I could not
imagine his skill
I choose to follow
no prescribed path without a
love prescription
ideas I am often
saying nevermore
another frame of
clouds and blue sky because the
author likes these shots
Turned me into a doodler
no more pink today

Awesome pictures!!
Thanks John!
i’m just taking the first part, about the open window and animals staring. on it’s own, that’s great because it can go either way. it could be animals outside staring in. it could be “animals” inside, human animals, staring out, with a want for the outdoors and a back to nature thing.
Rich,
This is why I love Haiku. I don’t usually have an interpretation of ever really know the next word out of my keyboard. What you suggest makes it all much more real to me and for this I thank you
Beautiful! Where are the ruins? I visited as many as I could find when I lived in New Mexico. Awesome way to spend my weekends back then.
Awesome post!
On Another note, I did not get an email for your Saturday segment of the story! Did you post it?
Charles, the ruins are on top of Mt Falcon in Jefferson, County Colorado. This was the home of a very interesting man who ultimately wanted to build a summer home for the Presidents in the area. Thanks for the your compliment!
As for yesterday I posted about an amazing dining experience we had on Friday night. When I have a good series going I prefer to post them Monday-Friday as readership dips on the weekends. Part 5 will be tomorrow
Gotcha. I thought you had said you’d post 5 on Saturday–my bad!
Saw the sushi post ~ GACK!
I probably did say that.
A beautiful trip that resulted in these beautiful photos for us to enjoy. Thank you.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
It would not be a good day on my blog without a comment from you
Beautiful shots, Michael, and I enjoyed the haiku as well. The ninth image (of the crow or raven?) is particularly striking.
It is indeed a raven.
Thank you Lemony..you know you inspired me yesterday
Awesome photos!
Susie, have you done Mt Falcon?
I don’t think so…
another sunday
images and thoughts by mike
brilliant and lucky
I will 100% agree with Lucky. Brilliant was only the day
Look forward to my Sunday morning TBA Haiku.
Thank you my friend! Next week I may have some guest Haiku as I will be prepping a rather large Easter Feast!
Amazing shots Michael. You are blessed to have such beautiful scenery all around you! You’ve inspired me to pen a little ditty about the lovely songbird outside my bedroom window this morning.
Dawns ardent songbird
Singing enchantment desire
Shut up I’m sleeping
ahahahahahah! You set me up so well with that one Lori! This is the kind of response I love to get. Brava!
Another beautiful set of photos, Michael. Each one is incredibly different, and so they never tire the eyes.
Your poor little face; at the very least, hopefully you had the pleasure of being coddled with a little aloe and affection.
Cara,
Btw you were not the inspiration for the Cara character.
What was wrong with my face? I was not sunburned at all so perhaps my color editing on the shot was off..weird. I was wearing 50SPF sunscreen stick
Thanks for the sweet comment!
You know . . . My name isn’t all that common, but I thought to myself what a boob I’d be if I went ahead and made presumptions about “Cara”. The picture is gorgeous, and the landscape is just . . . Wow. Michael, you shouldn’t have! When can I expect our home to be ready for move-in?
Thank you for the haiku, my friend.
No? You’re not burned? You do look a tad pink to me . . . Perhaps it’s only my computer screen, though.
I thought he looked a tad roasted too.
I have added an additional Haiku inspired by you and Cara
Hope this does not come as a disappointment as my natural skin tone is a sun- imbued shade of pink. If I wasn’t pink I would have no color at all. I am leaning towards making that shot into a B&W
Did you really just circuitously apologize for your skin tone? If we lived in walking distance from one another, I would walk on over now and pinch you! Your shade is lovely, Michael. My sweet M is naturally on the ruddy side, too, and I think it suits his demeanor and disposition splendidly. I make these same notions about you.
Now . . . about that bonus haiku; I love it! And I do love the shot in B&W, as it adds instant charm, subduing the vivid “nature” of the photo; however, I truly do love the color shot . . . it brings another magnificence to the candidacy of your expression.
Thanks for the double-dose feature today. My goodness; however will I work you into my Tuesday Tutorial . . . Muahahaha
No, I apologized to you for letting you know I was the color of veal in advance.
Well, I could teach you to make some killer Italian dish and it could be a double-dose post
I had no idea veal was such a pretty shade of pink
Sounds good to me!
It is….let’s cook together
Please check my post again for a bonus Haiku!
Awesome photos! Love the first one.
I almost always post my favorite image first and my favorite haiku somewhere in the middle. Much to you Jennifer.
Mi saluti Sardegna!
Beautiful photos! and I enjoyed reading everything too =)
Thank you lunch and dinner. I am so happy you took the time to comment.
The lynching tree is my favorite. Picture and words pairing for something unexpected.
Indeed the beauty of it lies in its opposing imagery. Thank you, and you must share your name with me (mhousewright@yahoo.com)
enjoying your blog…….
Thanks Dean! I am on yours with each new post as well my friend. I admire anyone who can keep me hooked with poetry (and amazing titles)
Whoa! That is some seriously beautiful sky! The haiku is lovely….and fun. I always enjoy visiting your blog,
elisa

I am always so happy to hear from you and I am simply blessed to receive a haiku from a talented writer like you .
Cheers!
The first 3 photos are Awesome!
Thank you very much. It is great to hear from you
I think those were the funniest haikus yet
Liked the Poe reference, got chills with the rope, and laughed at the “author likes these shots”
Well done, as always!
Tag! You’re it! http://musingsoftheamusingmuse.com/2012/04/02/ive-been-tagged/
The Haiku is fabulous! As always
. You are an amazing photographer Michael. I aspire to be so good with my camera one day. And may I say your good natured banter with Cara once again had me in stitches!
i have missed Cara today! You guys come down to Denver this summer and we will all go shoot some crazy photos together. There is a travel blogger conference here in June!
That would be a blast! LOL! You two are so funny I’d be laughing the entire time.
Michael, how long have you been a photographer?
Reblogged this on Tracey in Maine.
