Welcome to the newest feature on The Blissful Adventurer: Italy Top 5 Weekly Images (Rome). To kickoff our new segment we share images of an old friend: Rome.
I expect this Top 5 to get a little irreverent over time and in the near future I will solicit guest photos of Italy to share unique views of the world’s most iconic country.
Stay tuned to the new TBA site for updated galleries, easier links, and as always great stories both fact and fiction about food, wine, and travel.

This was my first time back to St John Lateran in 20 years. The site did not disappoint.
The renowned and wonderfully talented Katie Parla sent us to this fabulous gelateria near the Circus Maximus. Simply called Il Gelato, you can find all the details on Katie’s Rome for Foodies smart phone application. It is the latest and constantly updated guide to the best food in Rome.
This was one of those days when the sun was so brilliant and the sky so iridescent that even the dog shit on the street had a glow about it. I love the colors of Roman buildings and on this day they were showing off for locals and foreigners alike.
On a late night drive to shoot guerrilla photos we met this guy along a stoplight and had to grab an image. Note the red wheels and the glow of our car headlamps on the front of this classic Cinquecento
We will see you all next week here on Italy Top 5 Weekly Images and our journey in Le Marche

The coliseum and St. Peters Cathedral sure bring back memories of our trip to Italy. Thanks for the reminder Michael
Reverend Randy!
You know I am always blessed to have you visit the site. What do you think of the new TBA? Give my best to the family and God bless
Nice photos Mike.
Thank you Mike! Great days in Roma
Dude. I’m loving this Gelato.
Guat, this is incredible Gelato
“… even the dog shit on the street had a glow about it.” Ah! My favorite kind of day in Roma! Likewise, a day in Venice under the same conditions is even more stunning! Especially when the dark clouds part and the rays beam down reflecting off the water.
Harold, I have Venice shots like this coming
Lovely!!! I want to go to there
Boomie! You should meet us there next summer and we will write and laugh all day
Every one of these photos captures something rich and vivid, but I’m not at all surprised by the fact that I was drawn most to the gelato! The picture itself is inviting of all kinds, truly.

Cara, there is a Facebook like button on the bottom of the post? Are you not seeing it? I see it and my web designer sees it so please let me know and also, would you mind letting me know what browser you are using? Bugs, bugs, bugs
I see it! Yes, it is most definitely there. I was looking for a WordPress-esqe “like” button. I access your blog through Google.
Let me know if I can help in any way; squashing cyber-bugs is my speciality. No . . . it’s not, but it’s Michaels, and I am always happy to ask him any questions for you.
I may take you up on that
Why was there a giant rabbit in the back seat of the Fiat?
I’m with Lady D on the giant rabbit. Wonderful images again.
Beautiful, your pictures really capture the various different aspects of Rome.
thank you! Have we met Canalcook? I am always eager to meet people who know Rome
‘Even the dogshit on the ground had a glow about it”? Now this is why I love your blog. Just getting caught up on my reading. Loving the new site!
Joanie, thank you for your comment and for staying with me through the travels and the changes. Things are still not 100% but we are getting close and then my writing will return to the central focus. I hope all is well with you. LA could very well be our next stop on the TBA tour
love getting these comments from you and my apologies if I already replied as I am still working out bugs
