Coffee – Our Daily Passion

Juliet taught me to love coffee. Yes, I was an Italian caffe’ guy from way back but I did not drink much coffee in America.

The main reason I discovered was that coffee in America was often simply not good. This, I am proud to say, is changing rapidly and has improved dramatically since I met Juliet 5 and a half years ago. [Read more...]

NOVO Coffee – Photos by Juliet Housewright

I took Juliet for her very first coffee cupping yesterday at Denver’s NOVO Coffee. This is a wonderful process by which roasters hone the flavors in their beans and a wonderful way to fully understand the flavor complexities in great coffee.

As it turns out Juliet always gifted with an eye for beauty and interest was able to capture some fine photos on the tour of the roaster while learning to cup like a pro. [Read more...]

Easter Feaster 2012 – The Menu

Juliet Setting Our Easter Table 2010

Natale con I tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi

Juliet and I began a new tradition for in 2010: The Easter Feaster Feaster. Based on the Italian saying above that loosely translates to Christmas with family and Easter with whomever you would like, we choose to cook a big Easter meal and invite interesting friends to share it.

In 2010 we did a Roman Easter meal with 19 dishes overall and it went about 9 and a half hours. As we are on the road living in 2012 we had to scale back the menu a bit, but hopefully not the fun. Here is a our 2012 Easter Feaster Menu. [Read more...]

Wild Akami Tuna from the Coast of Andalucia

I must interrupt my series on Why I Travel to bring you a gastronomic interlude worthy of kings and dinosaurs.

Last night in celebration of Juliet accepting an extension to keep us here in Denver through the summer we dined at the highly touted Sushi Den. Snowy Tuesday Thoughts

Water-blocked Bike

The forecast in Denver Today: Light Snow with 0in of possible accumulation – WRONG!

My second day back in Denver is a snowy one and that has not stopped the Hipster invasion from my local happy place: CREMA COFFEE HOUSE

I have recently had the great fortune of a growing readership with special thanks to the amazing and prolific Lesley Carter and her World-Class Blog: Indulge – Travel, Adventure, & New Experiences. Lesley has built a following with her adventurous life and excellent blog that is nothing short of remarkable. I rarely envy anyone or anything, I envy this woman’s passion and discipline.

As many of your reading are new to me, I thought I would share some randomly chosen thoughts and observations to give you insight into my writing and personality. I will couple this with photos from today’s 0 inches of snow. [Read more...]
